Blurb:

Forty-eight year old art gallery owner Paul Strait loves the nightlife—wild parties, stiff cocktails, and even stiffer men! But his decadent lifestyle has grown lonely and now he’s looking for love. Some days it seems that what he wants must be a fantasy. Hoping that the perfect guy is out there he enlists the help of Madame Eve.

After all, a fantasy service like 1Night Stand should be able to deliver his fantasy man, right?

Josef Debrossé runs an exotic gay bar in the Caribbean known only to locals and select tourists. The many patrons coming in and out of his bar ensure Josef never has a shortage of lovers but he’s grown tired of being just a vacation fling.

Josef wants to be another man’s lover and partner, not a mere souvenir from the islands.

Lost in a dance of lust and allure, both men are thrilled with Madame Eve’s choice for them and feel an intense connection the moment they meet. Flirting over drinks quickly leads to the bedroom. But after their fiery lust has been quenched, the night goes from fantasy to reality without warning. Secrets and frightening pasts threaten to shatter the magical illusion of their perfect date.

Will this budding romance survive in the face of reality?

Excerpt:

“I am Josef Debrossé.” He had yet to release Paul’s hand—not that he had any complaints— and his blood warmed from touching a total stranger he’d paid to meet.

He let out a breathless chuckle, not surprised he’d been holding his breath.

“Paul Strait,” he replied, caught up in something…giddiness? Excitement? Sexual tension? He wasn’t sure, but he felt like a silly girl swooning on her first date. Almost as an afterthought, he added his signature tagline, “And I’m anything but.”

A rich resonant laughter danced around them, weaving a spell and capturing Paul inside it until he didn’t even know which way was up or down.

“C’est bon, Paul Strait,” he said, those hypnotic eyes sparkling.

When Josef released him, he had to resist the urge to take the man’s hand back and never let go, fearing he might disappear. Instead, he downed the rest of his champagne, scolding himself for being so ridiculous. He nodded toward the bar where plenty of stools sat open. “Can I buy you a drink?”

At the resort, everything was included, but it seemed like the most logical thing to say. Much classier than, “Are you wearing underwear?”

Interview:

We’d like a blog post on the topic: what makes your story different from the rest?

Well, as you can tell, FINDING HIS FANTASY is an interracial romance, but that is hardly part of the plot. My characters are also not twentysomethings. The blond on the cover is 48 years old and Josef is 37.

Aside from being a mature, interracial romance, the most unique thing about FINDING HIS FANTASY has to be Paul.

He smokes, he drinks, and he makes no apologies about either. He also has opinions as big as his heart. Most of his shocking and totally un-PC opinions have roots in a shocking past which slowly become revealed as the story moves forward. A wealthy playboy with a penchant for stiff drinks and even stiffer men, Paul is finally ready to find love. But he’ll be dammed if he is going to change his lifestyle for a man.

That’s why the book is called, FINDING HIS FANTASY, because what Paul is looking for must be a fantasy, right?

Just check out this conversation between Paul and Josef, and you will get a taste of why he was so much fun to write. I hope readers love him as much as I do!

“Look,” Paul began. “I’m not looking to start rusticating in a cul-de-sac and adopt an Asian baby. Living the American dream in white picket fence suburbia? No, thank you. Gay marriage is not for me.”

“I believe it is just marriage, n’est-ce pas?” Josef said.

He suppressed an eye roll. “Honestly, you can call it whatever you want. I’m not interested. Ever since the SCOTUS ruling, every fag in America is registering for place settings and I’m over here like, ‘But I already have dishes I like.’ The ruling is great for gays who wanna live their lives the way straight people do, but I’m never getting married.”

“Non?”

“Why should I?” he countered. “I might make jokes that I’m looking for a wife, but in reality, trying to define gay relationships by straight parameters is exactly where the whole ‘which one is the girl?’ crapola came from. The gays trying to make the straights understand gay. Well, they can have it. Believe you me, I’ve gotten my ass chewed out by more than one activist about it, but that’s how I see it. If that makes me a bitter old fag, then so be it.” He shrugged and took another sip of his cocktail, adding, “I’m just tired of being a lonely old fag.”

Josef said nothing.

Show him all your cards, why don’t you? Christ, Paulie….

He ventured a glance at him but did not find offense in those hazel eyes, rather, he saw total amusement.

Heat rose in Paul’s cheeks but he managed a smile. “If you think I’m an asshole, you should run while you still can because what you see is what you get. I don’t play games and I don’t pretend. That being said, I don’t mind a difference of opinion. Hell, I even have conservative Republican friends, shockingly enough. But opinions are like assholes. Everybody’s got one, but that doesn’t mean I want it shoved in my face. I’m a Taurus. Not much can change the mind of this stubborn, opinionated bull.”

“A Taurus is also loyal and passionate,” Josef countered.

“Indulgent,” he added, holding up his cocktail.

Smiling, Josef gestured toward himself. “We are.”

“A fellow Taurus? I think that’s supposed to be a good thing, right?” He didn’t follow astrology, but he’d fucked a guy for a few months who was obsessed with it and he couldn’t deny that a lot of it made sense.

Josef chuckled. “I believe so, oui.”

Deanna Wadsworth might be a bestselling erotica author, but she leads a pretty vanilla life in Ohio with her wonderful husband and a couple adorable cocker spaniels. She has been spinning tales and penning stories since childhood, and her first erotic novella was published in 2010. She has served multiple board positions at her local RWA chapter and with Rainbow Romance Writers of America. When she isn’t writing books or brainstorming with friends, you can find her making people gorgeous in a beauty salon. She loves music and dancing, and can often be seen hanging out on the sandbar in the muddy Maumee River or chilling with her hubby and a cocktail in their basement bar. In between all that fun, Deanna cherishes the quiet times when she can let her wildly active imagination have the full run of her mind. Her fascination with people and the interworkings of their relationships have always inspired her to write romance with spice and love without boundaries.
