So it’s been a year…
June 6th, 2013 ‘500 Miles’ came out. It was my first release and I was so freaking nervous about it. Still, people embraced Mark and Jase. I couldn’t believe how well it did and you wouldn’t believe how humbled I was by it. That was the beginning of the greatest year of my life.
I’m not even sure I’ll hit everything that happened over the year, but I’m going to give it a shot.
I teamed up with KC Wells to write Someone To Keep Me. THAT was an amazing experience. While most people enjoyed the story, there were, of course, complaints about the fact that Ben wasn’t a know-it-all Dom and made mistakes (some pretty big ones). KC and I still think we did something really good with it and hold it up as a shining example of our joint efforts. We also got to celebrate in person when KC made her maiden voyage to the United States!
I wrote Mr. Average for MLR Press.
I got published by Harmony Ink with Pitch (which was technically my first story since it was submitted before Mr. Average). And was stunned to get a cover from none other than the amazing Reese Dante!
I got to become one of the proofreaders for the Pulp Friction series by Laura Harner, Havan Fellows, Tom Webb, and Lee Brazil – all of whom I’ve become friends with. (And their minds are scary to behold!)
I hopped on a plane for the first time and went to GRL – my first ever convention – and met some absolutely amazing people. Piper Vaughn, Rhys Ford, Becky Condit, Max Vos, Tom Webb, Laura Harner (who let me hang out in her room when it got overwhelming), Amy Lane, Anne Tenino, Eden Winters, SJD Peterson, JP Barnaby, Angel Martinez, Silvia Violet (who isn’t violet at all), Amanda Atchley (who shocked the cookies out of me), Cate Ashwood (who cried when I met her, which made me feel bad), Zallora, Andrew Grey, and so so so many others.
I wrote a free story for Goodreads called Lost Time and the wonderful Sara York kindly made a cover for me!
I wrote Nuttin’ For Christmas which got the perfect cover from Madison Parker.
KC and I got a contract for Damian’s Discipline – book 5 in the Collars and Cuffs world (which will again feature a different type of story).
I got a contract for Wet Paint (sequel to Pitch). It’s Benny and Addy’s story and (I hope) is better than Pitch (or so I’m told).
I also started Pride-Promotions, which has gone great so far. It’s an honor working with so many stellar authors.
I won awards!
Oh, and lest I forget, I gave notice at my job. Almost 28 years and now it’s time we part ways.
And I got to nearly ONE THOUSAND friends on Facebook. I don’t know what the future holds, but thank you for being part of it with me.
