Lee Brazil Presents: In From the Cold: Cold Snap

In From the Cold

Cover Reveal Blog Tour

Good morning all! Hey there Parker Williams! *hugs* *discreetly slips bribe into PW’s pocket* Thanks for letting me steal your platform for a few minutes. I’ve got a gorgeous new cover to share and an advance copy to give away. *sips coffee* For those in the audience who don’t know me, I’m Lee Brazil, author of m/m romance, and proud member of the Pulp Friction organization.

That’s what brings me here today.

What’s Pulp Friction? Well you might ask! It is about the most complicated undertaking I’ve attempted recently. 4 Authors, 4 series, 20 books, one fiery finale.

See, Laura Harner, Havan Fellows, Tom Webb and I create an interlocking web of mm romance serial fiction that culminates in a single story. Last year we took on Atlanta, and this year we’re moving into Flagstaff.

I followed a character I created, who kind of got nudged out of what was supposed to be his primary role last year.

Cannon Malloy, neurosurgeon, was supposed to be Chance DuMont’s partner. Things just didn’t work out that way. He was, as they say, too late to get the worm. *blinks* Er…early bird gets the worm, right? So being late, by about five years, means Cannon gets no worm. Not that I’m saying Chance was a worm, though I hear some people *coughs* called him a variety of names during his interactions with Rory Gaines, who turned out to be the genuine love of his life.

Well, since I allowed Rory to steal Cannon’s love, I figured I had to give him a second chance *hehe.  See what I did there?*

So Cannon picks up and moves to Flagstaff to get away from a memory of a love he really can’t have (among other things)…and that’s when the snow starts falling. Which makes this gorgeous cover absolutely perfect.

A year ago, KC Wells shared bits of An Unlocked Heart with a new writer. She asked his opinion on some things. Then asked if he’d consider talking with her while she planned Trusting Thomas, the second in the series. The new writer was humbled, and said yes because he loved the characters so much. After plotting the book out, Ms. Wells asked if this author (oh hell, it was me, I admit it) would consider writing a book with her. My immediate reply was no. She was multi-published already. Had a spate of reviews under her belt. I had one short story and was working on a novel.

Then I had the idea of how to make our differences work for us and suggested it to her. Her reply: Duh. Of course we can make it work. You need to believe more in yourself.

Thus began the plotting for Someone to Keep Me. The story of Scott and Ben. We hoped it would find an audience. I was afraid that teaming with a relative unknown would hurt the chances for the book to  do well, but the day it came out we hit #1 in Australia, the UK, Germany, Canada! We also hit #3 in the United States (against some amazingly stiff competition…heh, I said stiff).

Today I found out we hit lists in Italy and Spain!

I’m so glad that KC didn’t give up on me. Didn’t think that teaming up with a noob was a bad thing. This book put me over the top into happiness. Then, just as I was putting this together, I found this: We actually hit the lists in freaking JAPAN!

JapanSo apparently we’re doing pretty damn well. And I’m kind of doubting we could be much prouder.

(Okay, fine. For argument sake, we’d be over the moon if we hit #1 in the US, too, but we’re not greedy.)

REVIEW:

Danielle: Hey Cin, I am reading ‘Someone to Keep Me’ I was thinking it’s a joint writer effort so how about a joint review?

Cindy: Sounds good to me. Send me a copy, let me read it and I’ll get back to you.

Cindy: I just finished it and it was definitely worth the wait!

Danielle: I tell you, Woman, I was so looking forward to this one. I mean, that combination of authors? That must be the bomb! They sure delivered!

Cindy: They really did. I love this combination of characters and with all the familiar names it was like running into old friends.

Danielle: That I definitely agree on. I mean how can you not love the characters from the other books; Leo and Alex and Thomas and Peter….

Cindy: It was wonderful to get a glimpse into their futures while meeting Scott and Ben.

Danielle: Yeah lets talk Scott and Ben! Gosh what a couple of men! Ben for me so showing he was strong yet vulnerable but so solid and warm .* sigh* Scott’s the opposite but that insecurity? Man that hit me hard I’ll tell you that.

Cindy: Yeah, Scott hit home for me too. He feels so lost and alone at the beginning of the book. I think he sort of represents that part of all of us who’ve never felt good enough.

Danielle: Yes I think that out of the whole book, that part got to me the most, the beginning. That touched me deeply. It’s the opposite from what I think is the more usual feeling for me, more attracted to the content of the story and getting further into it

Cindy: And Ben. He’s a good man who just wants to do the right thing. You can feel that he’s instantly attracted to Scott but pushes it aside because he wants what’s best for the younger man.

Danielle: Yes he’s the opposite of selfish. You can feel that through the whole story. He puts eveyone’s needs before his own.

Ben Winters says: It’s a boy!

BoyBen & Scott hit the shelves today!

The first book by the coauthor duo of KC Wells and Parker Williams released at midnight. The baby is healthy, and the parents are said to be doing fine. The mother, in fact, slept soundly through the birth, while the father fretted in the waiting room.
